Sugar Causes Wrinkles?

I am sure I am not the only one who has ever thought that the sun is the main component for why we age, however did you know that sugar is mainly the reason why we end up aging? I don’t mean the sugar that is found in candy bars and soda. I am referring to the sugar that is contained in a glass of wine, pasta, a slice of bread, even excess protein, and fruits and veggies. Yes, even fruits and veggies turn into sugar (glycose) in the body. Research has shown that sugar really does age you. This process is called glycation.

So, what is glycation? According to Elle magazine in a recent article titled Sugar and Aging: How to Fight Glycation as follows: "When you have sugar molecules in your system, they bombard the body's cells like a meteor shower—glomming onto fats and proteins in a process known as glycation. This forms advanced glycation end products (commonly shortened, appropriately, to AGEs), which cause protein fibers to become stiff and malformed … The proteins in skin most prone to glycation are the same ones that make a youthful complexion so plump and springy—collagen and elastin. When those proteins hook up with renegade sugars, they become discolored, weak and less supple; this shows up on the skin's surface as wrinkles, sagginess and a loss of radiance".
