Before you apply lip colour, begin by caring for your lips, then apply.
Let's begin!
Caring for the Lips:
If
you want to save time to remove your chapped, dry lips, instead of
using lip balm, which could take some time, why not exfoliate your lips?
It's quick and simple.
If you do want to use a lip balm or a
lip gloss that also moisturizers your lips, as well as providing
excellent colour as it's a high pigmented gloss or balm. Here are my
choices .
Lip Balm: L'Oreal: Colour Riche Balm
Lip Gloss: Too Faced: Glamour Gloss
It's also an anti-aging lip gloss. It prevents any fine lines you may get around your mouth.
There are many lipstick lip balms that are hitting the shelves this upcoming season. They work just as well. Why not, giveive them a try.
Try this recipe!
Lip Exfoliator:
1 tsp of white sugar, you can substitute white sugar for brown sugar
1 tsp of honey, you can substitute honey for water
1 new toothbrush
Spoon
Paper towel or a clean wash cloth
Mix
together the sugar and honey. Mix well with a spoon. Wash your hands.
Once washed, apply the mixture to your lips. Once applied, take your new
toothbrush and scrub the mixture on your lips. Scrub the mixture for
about a minute. Take a paper towel or wash cloth to remove the mixture.
And, voila! Soft, smooth, supple lips. The exfoliator removed the dead
skin off of your lips. Say good bye to dry, chapped lips.
Lipstick, Lip liner, Lip gloss, oh my!
Now
, that we've cared for our lips, we have to top it off with a lip gloss
or lip stick. how do you apply lipstick? How do apply lip liner? And,
lip gloss? I will tell you. I will even tell you how you can keep your
red/bright lips in tact without having to use lip liner. There is a way.
Lipstick:
Let's discuss how to apply lipstick. If you want
that intensity from the lipstick, apply it straight from the tube. Use
the edge or if you're like me and prefer your lipstick to have a pointed
top to it. Use either or to get into the corners of your lips and the
pointed or round portion of your upper lips, as well as outlining your
lips. In case you haven't noticed you are using this portion of the
lipstick as placement. If you find it much easier to use a lip brush to
apply lipstick, then use a lip brush. Apply lipstick from the centre of
the lips working your way to the corners.
Lip Liner:
Apply
lip liner after you've applied lipstick. It looks more natural this way.
Make sure your lip liner matches your lipstick. If you don't want to
use lip liner, substitute it by using powder. You will need either a
foundation, concealer or a small powder brush. If its a small, flat
powder brush even better. Take the brush of your choosing, along with
with a powder. I prefer using a powder foundation. Out line by pressing
into the lip line making sure the powder is concentrated, as well as
applying the right amount of product to keep the lip stick in tact.
Sweeping the product as if you're powdering your face will have the
powder go everywhere. Sweep at the end to blend.
Lip Gloss:
Apply
lip gloss from the centre of your lips working your way to the corners.
Now, you don't want to go right to the corners, because the gloss will
end up there anyway. If you do apply to your corners you will be wiping
some off t some point as you will realize you applied too much. If you
want to apply lip liner or opt for the powder technique instead after
the gloss has been applied. Go for it. You don't have to though. It's a
personal choice.
