DON’T apply your mascara directly from
the tube!
When removing
the wand from your mascara, always wipe off the excess product with a paper
towel. This prevents your lashes from clumping.

DON’T leave your makeup in the bathroom!
Leaving your
makeup in the bathroom will only cause your makeup to expire much sooner, as
well as bacteria seeping into the product, thanks to the steam from hot
showers.

DO match your foundation at your jawline!
The reason
you should match your foundation at your jawline is, because this is the only
part of the skin that doesn't get exposed to the skin, making it your true
complexion colour.

DON’T use foundation to cover fine lines
or blemishes!
The purpose
of foundation is to deliver an even canvas. It will cover imperfections;
however the foundation will not conceal a blemish, just the redness of it. As
for covering up the bump, that is left up to the concealer to do its job. The
more foundation you apply on the fine lines, the more it will accentuate them. Using
a light foundation, such as a BB Cream or tinted moisture will camouflage the
fine lines without emphasizing the fine lines.

DO remove your makeup before going to
bed!
By removing
your makeup before heading to bed, you are preventing the makeup from entering
into the pores, which in the end causes the pores to dry out and when the pores
have dried the skin ages. To quickly remove the makeup, use a towelette.

DO apply bronzer!
One of the
great things about bronzer is that it recaptures that radiant glow that ends up
escaping us, as we age. It also gives a nice tan, as if you had just gotten
back from vacation. Apply a small amount of bronzer with a powder brush in a 3
shape on one side of the face and a backwards 3 shape on the other side; making
sure you hit the forehead, cheekbones, jawline, chin and nose, which is where
the sun hits the face.

DO use yellow concealer to cover redness!
Instead of
using green corrective concealer, use yellow. The reason for this is simply
because yellow conceals the red much quicker than the green and is just as
effective, too.

DO use makeup brushes!
Makeup
brushes are the best choice to use in applying the makeup. A sponge absorbs
half of the product, you cannot tap off the excess product and you cannot go
back and correct any area that may need touching up. You would have to reapply.
This can cause the canvas to look caked on. As for fingers, well, the oils in
the fingers are different than the oils in the face, which will cause bacteria
to form in the formula, making it expire much sooner than need be. As for the
applied makeup on the face, because of the different oils, the makeup will
separate in a matter of minutes. Therefore, makeup brushes allows you to touch
up without having to reapply the product onto the tool, along with not mixing
oils and the finish application doesn’t look caked on, as long as you tap off
the excess product before applying.
