Makeup Tip: Covering Redness

bareMinerals Broad Spectrum Multi-Tasking Face $23

Did you know: If you have any redness on the face, the quickest way to camouflage the redness is with a yellow undertone concealer? After foundation has been applied that matches your complexion, apply a yellow based concealer or you can skip the foundation, and go straight for the concealer followed by powder that matches your skin tone. Make sure the concealer is cream based, as well as a little goes a long way. You can use an actual yellow concealer, which will brighten up your complexion or if you are already have light/medium skin, then use a concealer that is a shade darker than your tone and apply over the redness. Yellow covers the redness quicker then using green.

Another great friend of yours will be bronzer. Brown, just like yellow, neutralizes red. Apply the bronzer on your cheekbones if that is where you have the redness. Use it as a blush. If you do not have a bronzer, but a brown blush, that works, also. How do you apply bronzer? Apply in a "three" shape on one side, and a backwards "three". If you feel adventurous, use a liquid bronzer, or a gel base bronzer, instead of a traditional powder.
