Why is Exfoliating Important?

Exfoliating is so important because it removes dead skin. It is designed to be used after you cleanse and before you use a toner. Exfoliating was originally designed in the early 2000’s when a couple of dermatologists were wondering why men age gracefully. They had decided that it’s because men were exfoliating after they had shaved. So, these dermatologists had thought, “Well, if it works on men, why wouldn’t it work on women”, so exfoliating is born.

Exfoliating is a very important skin care step that one mustn’t neglect regardless of your skin type. Once the dead skin has been removed from the pores, this allow skin cells to grow to its full capacity. Plus, it unclogs the pores allowing your skin to breathe. This minimizes to even eliminating blemishes and acne.

Deciding on an Exfoliator

With all of the exfoliators that have hit the market, it’s sometimes difficult to determine which exfoliator is right for you. Ask yourself this question, do you want to exfoliate every day, or two to three times a week? If you want an exfoliator to use on a daily basis, look for an exfoliator that has fine grinds. Otherwise, an exfoliator that is to be used two to three times a week requires grinds that are thicker in grinds.
